Tucked away in a quiet part of Bath, the Wellbeing House, operated by local housing provider Curo, offers a calm, restorative space for adults facing emotional distress. Commissioned by Virgin Care on behalf of Bath & North East Somerset’s Community Health & Care Services, this unique service provides short-term support for those in need of a break — before things reach crisis point.

We are super proud that Suicide Prevention UK has been chosen as Curo’s Charity of the Year. This partnership means the world to us, and we’re thrilled to stand alongside an organisation so deeply committed to wellbeing in the community.

A Safe Space to Breathe and Rebuild

Set within an award-winning Victorian property, the Wellbeing House offers non-clinical support in a peaceful setting. Adults aged 18 and over can stay for up to seven days, with private ensuite bedrooms, shared living areas, and a calm environment ideal for reflection and self-care.

There is no pressure, no judgment, and no medical intervention — just space and kindness.

Who Can Access It?

This free service is open to individuals who:

  • Live in the Bath & North East Somerset area
  • Are registered with a local GP
  • Have a home they can return to after their stay
  • Are not in active mental health crisis
  • Can live without using drugs or alcohol during the stay
  • Can manage their own self-care and meals
  • Are comfortable living in a shared environment

Please note, the Wellbeing House is not a substitute for crisis care or inpatient mental health services.

Gentle, Informal Support

While there are no clinical staff, the team offers gentle encouragement, emotional space, and informal support throughout the stay. The focus is on helping guests rebuild stability, restore calm, and explore coping strategies that they can take back into daily life.

Accessibility

The service also offers an accessible self-contained flat, ensuring that people with mobility needs are fully supported.

Proud to Be Curo’s Charity of the Year

We’re incredibly honored to be named Curo’s Charity of the Year. Their belief in our mission means more people will hear about Suicide Prevention UK’s work, more conversations about mental health will take place, and more lives will be supported when it matters most.

Together, we’re showing how partnerships can create real, lasting impact in our communities.

If you or someone you know is struggling, Bath Wellbeing House may offer the pause and support needed to begin feeling safe and hopeful again.
