At Suicide Prevention UK, our mission is to offer immediate, compassionate support to individuals in crisis. This vital work is only possible with the help of generous supporters. We are proud to share how a recent grant from the Randal Charitable Foundation is making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve and in the safety and confidence of our dedicated volunteers.

Thanks to the foundation’s generous support, we’ve taken significant steps to enhance our patrol operations. Our teams now wear updated uniforms featuring clearly visible logo badges and improved signage. This ensures they are easily identifiable in high-risk areas such as bridges, stations, and roadside locations. Greater visibility not only promotes a sense of safety and professionalism, but also encourages individuals in distress to reach out and engage with our volunteers.
Training is another critical area where the Randal Charitable Foundation’s support is having an impact. In August, we will be delivering four Mental Health First Aid training sessions to equip more of our team with the knowledge and skills to support those in crisis.
In addition, during July and August, all volunteers have the opportunity to complete Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work training. This accredited qualification strengthens our capacity to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations, ensuring every team member is equipped with practical lifesaving skills.
This relationship with the Randal Charitable Foundation is more than just financial assistance. It is an investment in safety, readiness, and compassion. With their help, we are better prepared to support those at risk of suicide and continue making a real difference in our communities.
Our Trustee, Tristan Easter, says:
“On behalf of Suicide Prevention UK, I would like to thank the Randal Charitable Foundation for their generous support this year. Grant funding is vital for us to carry out the lifesaving work that we do with vulnerable people and people in crisis. This grant will enable us to provide the necessary training and equipment to our patrol and call handler volunteers and the small team of staff that are pivotal to our continued mission of never leaving a person with no one to turn to.”
We extend our deepest thanks to the Randal Charitable Foundation for their belief in our work and their commitment to saving lives.
